Since the drilling of the first oil well, oil production has evolved into a continuous and complex process. For this reason, the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and the American Petroleum Institute (API) have jointly developed the ISO/TS 29001:2010 standard: ‘Oil, petrochemical and natural gas industries – Sector-specific quality management systems – Requirements for organisations providing products and services’. This standard is a quality management system that meets the requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of products within the oil, petrochemical and natural gas sectors.
The ISO/TS 29001 standard, ‘Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries – Sector-specific quality management systems – Requirements for organisations providing products and services’, is based on the ISO 9001 Quality management system standard. Furthermore, it includes additional requirements emphasising the reduction of deviations and waste by service providers through preventive measures.
The standard in question has also been published in this country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) under the following title: TSE ISO/TS 29001 Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries – Sector-specific quality management systems – Requirements for organisations providing products and services.
The ISO 29001 standard, ‘Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries – Sector-specific quality management systems – Requirements for organisations providing products and services’, is applicable to the following organisations:
ISO 29001 standardı, birden fazla belgelendirme denetiminden kaçınmak ve petrol, petrokimya ve doğal gaz işletmeleri için kalite yönetim sistemine ortak bir yaklaşım sağlamak amacı ile tasarlamıştır.
